Some of India’s most eminent jurists and constitutional law experts are set to assemble at Police Ground, Ghatkopar on 1st and 2nd November 2025 for the Second Legal Precursor Session, a high-level constitutional law dialogue organized by JYOT, under the aegis of His Holiness, Spiritual Sovereign, Jainacharya Yugbhushansuri, the 79th successor of Tirthankar Mahavir Swami.

The upcoming session, in the 75th year of the Indian Constitution, builds on the success of the first Legal Precursor held in August 2025 and serves as an intellectual forerunner to the flagship Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Ki Oar 4.0 conclave scheduled from 16th to 22nd January 2026 in Mumbai.

The two-day gathering, organized in association with Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai, Government Law College (GLC), Jitendra Chauhan College of Law (JCCL), and other leading institutes, will bring together advocates, judges, bureaucrats, and students. Esteemed panellists include some of India’s leading legal minds: Justice G. R. Swaminathan (Madras High Court), Dama Seshadri Naidu (Former Judge, High Court & Senior Advocate), N. Venkataraman (Additional Solicitor General of India), Birendra Saraf (Advocate General of Maharashtra), Arvind Kamath (Additional Solicitor General of India), Balbir Singh (Former Additional Solicitor General of India), Percival Billimoria (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India), P. K. Malhotra (Former Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice), and Indrajit Sinha (Advocate, Jharkhand High Court).

The deliberations will center on critical constitutional questions touching upon the limits of Parliament’s amending power, the scope of State interference in religious affairs, and the evolving balance between socio-economic rights and individual freedoms. The dialogue aims to revisit these themes through the lens of ancient Indian wisdom, connecting historic jurisprudence with contemporary constitutional law.

A research-based exhibition on constitutional themes will also be displayed, incorporating insights from His Holiness Jainacharya Yugbhushansuriji. Legal Precursor 2.0 serves as a nuanced platform for dialogue on constitutional governance and democratic ethics in the 75th year of India’s Constitution.
