Allahabad High Court orders dismissal of section officer who took Bribe of Rs 10 Lakh
The officer took a bribe of Rs. 10 Lakh for getting a man's son appointed in a subordinate court.
The Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, on Monday, September 26, 2022, ordered dismissal of one Section Officer from service on the charges of corruption of accepting Rs. 10 Lakh in lieu of providing employment to a person.
Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal passed the order on a complaint made by one Mahendra Pratap, resident of district Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh that Section Officer Kusum Mishra asked for Rs. 10,00,000 while promising that she'll get his son employed in the Subordinate Court.
After filing of the complaint, a full-fledged enquiry had been conducted against Mishra and the charges of corruption of accepting the aforesaid amount were found proved. Thereafter, the Chief Justice passed the order of dismissal.
The severe punishment of dismissal from service disqualifies the Officer from future employment.
The press release issued on Tuesday stated,
"Smt. Kusum Mishra, Section Officer (Emp No. 5967) of the Allahabad High Court has been punished with a severe punishment dismissal from service which disqualifies her from future employment vide order dated September 26, 2022 of Hon'ble the Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, on a complaint made by one Shri Mahendra Pratap, resident of Pahari-Rajapur Road, Banwaripur Mod, Karvi, Police Station Korwali Karvi, District Chitrakoot on the charges of taking bribe of Rs. 10,00,000/- in lieu of providing employment to his son in the Subordinate Court.
After a full fledged enquiry having been conducted against the said Kusum Mishra, Section Officer, the charges of corruption of accepting the aforesaid amount were found proved and she was punished with dismissal from service which disqualifies her from future employment."
Earlier also in May 2021, three Additional District Judges had been dismissed by the Allahabad High Court on charges of Corruption.
