“Attracted Gullible Young Girls to the organization”: NIA files chargesheet against 5 accused for recruiting cadres to CPI (M)
The investigation by the federal agency stated that the accused Dongari Devendra, Dubasi Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa recruited a few other girls to the CPI (Maoist) and attempted to recruit many more.
The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Monday filed chargesheet before the NIA Special Court, Vijayawada, Hyderabad against five persons accused of radicalizing and recruiting innocent youth to the CPI (Maoist) cadres, a banned organization.
The case was registered in response to a complaint filed regarding the recruitment of one Radha into the CPI cadres (Maoist). According to the complaint, the accused Dongari Devendra, Dubai Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa encouraged Radha to join the Chaitanya Mahila Sangham (CMS) and then radicalized and recruited her to the proscribed organization, CPI (Maoist), led by underground Maoists RK (since deceased), Uday, Aruna, and others.
The investigation of the federal agency revealed that the accused, Dongari Devendra, Dubasi Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa, had indeed attracted gullible young girls to the CMS organization under the guise of social work, and that depending on their dedication to the organization, such girls would be identified and sent to the proscribed organization, CPI (Maoist).
“According to investigations, the accused Dongari Devendra, Dubasi Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa recruited a few other girls to the CPI (Maoist) and attempted to recruit many more”, the NIA press release stated.
“Investigations have also revealed that the accused Devendra had taken Radha to the forests under the pretext of rendering medical assistance to someone and that Uday and Aruna coerced the missing girl Radha to join the proscribed organization. The role of the CMS, an organization, and other leaders of CMS, in the larger conspiracy, is being probed into”, the agency added.
As per the NIA press release, the case was initially registered by Peddabayalu Police Station of Visakhapatnam, and later was re-registered by NIA on June 3, 2022.
