The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has declined to grant interim relief to a final-year law student suspended by Symbiosis Law School, pending an internal inquiry into her alleged social media post critical of ‘Operation Sindoor’.
In an order dated May 14, Justice Rohit Joshi observed that the college’s action appeared administrative rather than punitive, and thus did not warrant immediate interference.
The student, though not arrested, was questioned by the police after being found with independent journalist Rajas Madepaddi alias Siddik, currently in custody for a controversial post on the Indian Army’s operations in Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
The court refrained from passing any stay order on the suspension, while allowing the student to respond to the show-cause notice issued by the institution.
