A division bench of the Bombay High Court comprising Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Sharmila Deshmukh on Thursday asked Bollywood Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his wife, and their children to appear in person in the judge's chamber on April 3, 2023.

Bollywood Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has approached the Bombay High Court seeking the whereabouts of his children who are allegedly in the custody of his wife. Siddique has filed a habeas corpus petition before the high court which was earlier heard by a division bench of Justice AS Gadkari and Justice PD Naik.

The counsel for Siddique had earlier informed the court that Siddique’s estranged wife is a citizen of UAE and he has received emails from the school wherein he has been informed that his children are missing school and will be rusticated.

Today, Siddique's lawyer told the court that as directed they had given a copy of the consent term to his ex-wife but his wife's lawyer said that there was nothing for the wife in the consent terms.

Siddique's lawyer further said that the schooling of children was an issue and he had received a message from one of the children that he wants to go to school.

The wife's lawyer informed the court that the children are attending school online but Siddique's lawyer said that there is no online school.

The bench initially proposed that the actor and the wife could appear online but since Justice Sharmila Deshmukh had some work and Siddiqui was out of town, the bench asked the parties and the children to appear in person in the judge's chamber on the next date.

In related news, Nawazuddin Siddique has filed a defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against his brother Shamasuddin Siddique and his wife Anjana Kishore Pandey aka Zainab and Alliya Siddique seeking Rs. 100 crores from both of them for defaming him.
