CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was granted bail by a Special Executive Magistrate in Delhi on 17 October 2026, subject to a peace bond requiring him to maintain peace for one year

A Special Executive Magistrate in Delhi on Saturday granted bail to Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), subject to conditions that include a peace bond binding him to maintain peace for a period of one year. Dipke had been placed under preventive arrest by the Delhi Police ahead of the CJP's 'Lehra Do Tiranga' march in Connaught Place.

Dipke has been asked to sign a bond and is required to comply with the peace bond. He is expected to be released shortly.

The release has been made conditional on the bond. As per repots, "He has to comply with the peace bond. One of the conditions will require him to maintain peace for one year."

The amount of the bond, whether sureties are required and the remaining conditions have not yet been disclosed.

On Friday, i.e. October 16, afternoon more than 20 Delhi Police personnel visited Dipke's residence in Jhandewalan and served him a notice asking him to refrain from acts that could prejudice the rights of others. He was detained the same evening while on his way to Central Park, Connaught Place, for the 'Lehra Do Tiranga' protest called by the CJP.

Neha Bora, who was detained along with Dipke, was released earlier on Saturday after the formal procedures were completed.

In a related news, on October 14, a Delhi's Special Executive Magistrate had remanded Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka to five days of judicial custody for allegedly trespassing at Jantar Mantar yesterday by crossing police barricades and entering the area after it was no denotifies as a protest site. The two, along with party member Ajinkya Shinde, were put under preventive detention yesterday.
They were produced before a Special Executive magistrate (SEM) at Mandir Marg in Delhi, in the morning. While Das and Ranka were remanded to judicial custody, Shinde was released on a personal bond, according to the party's legal team.
The case arises from an incident in which the party members allegedly crossed barricades and entered the Jantar Mantar area, raising slogans and holding the national flag. The police action followed the removal of Jantar Mantar from the list of designated protest venues.

According to Delhi Police, Das and Ranka had previously executed bonds undertaking to maintain peace and good behaviour for one year after being detained during an earlier protest.

The police alleged that the two had again violated the restrictions applicable in the area and breached the conditions of their bonds. They were consequently treated as repeat offenders and produced before the magistrate.

The earlier bonds were furnished after the two were detained on October 10. They were reportedly released after furnishing surety bonds of ₹50,000 each and undertaking to maintain peace and good behaviour for one year.

A peace bond is an undertaking to maintain peace and good behaviour for a specified period. Alleged breach of such conditions may lead to further proceedings before the competent authority or court.
