Delhi High Court Bomb Scare: Judges Evacuated After Threat Email

Proceedings at the Delhi High Court came to an abrupt halt on Friday after a bomb threat email was received by the court’s Registrar General.

The judges rose from their courts, and lawyers were informed that hearings would not continue for the day. The email, received at 10:41 AM by Registrar General Arun Bhardwaj, contained alarming claims. It invoked links with Pakistan’s ISI, threatened attacks on political figures, and warned that a judge’s chamber would be detonated after Friday prayers.

Quoting from the email, it read,"A smart and dynamic young Shia Muslim by the name Dr. Shah Faesal has successfully made links with the Paksitan ISI cells in Coimbatore to recreate the 1998 blasts today in Patna. See, the basic funda is, secular parties depend on allowing family dynasty politics and corruption to thrive in-order to fight BJP/RSS. When the heirs (Rahul Garndhi, Udhayanidhi) are prevented from power they lose interest in fighting against RSS. Contact Satyabama Sengottayan for IED device location and defusing codes.”

The email went on to threaten that “this week Inbanidhi Udhayanidhi s/o Udhayanidhi Stalin will be acid burnt” and proposed Dr. Ezhilan Naganathan as a future DMK leader, claiming that political heirs would be eliminated to reshape secular politics.

The email ended with a warning, claiming that “assets” had been planted within the police since 2017 and threatening that a blast at the High Court would serve as proof that earlier threats were not bluffs. It mentioned that a judge’s chamber would be detonated shortly after Mid-day Islamic Prayers.

Following the receipt of this mail, courtrooms were vacated and all pending matters adjourned. A bomb disposal squad soon reached the premises, and security was stepped up across the High Court complex.
