NIA files chargesheet against one explosive supplier in killing of five police personnel in Jharkhand
The National Investigation Agency has filed a supplementary charge sheet against an explosives supplier in connection with the killing of five police officers three years ago in a CPI (Maoist) attack in Jharkhand.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on August 18, 2022, filed a supplementary chargesheet before NIA Special Court, Ranchi against one explosive supplier namely Abraham Tuti in the killing of five police personnel in Kukruhaat Bazar, Saraikela, Jharkhand.
The case involves a deadly attack on the Police Patrolling party by CPI(Maoist) cadres on June 14, 2019, at Kukruhaat in Saraikela- Kharswan district of Jharkhand, in which five police personnel were killed and their arms and ammunition were looted.
As per the NIA press release, the NIA chargesheeted 25 accused persons on April 15, 2021, and August 3, 2021.
Investigations have revealed that the accused Abraham Tuti was an Over Ground Worker (OWG) of CPI(M) and was part of the criminal conspiracy hatched by the local commanders of CPI(M). He had also procured explosive materials and provided the same to local CPI(M) leaders for the commission of terrorist acts.
The accused Abraham Tuti @ Sukram Tuti has been chargesheeted under Section 120B read with 121 & 121A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, Sections 17, 18 20, 38, 39 and 40 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 and Section 8 read with 18 and 25 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
