NIA files chargesheet against nine drug traffickers in Gujarat
In the chargesheet, the NIA has exposed the criminal conspiracy hatched in Dubai to smuggle and distribute 500 kg of illegal narcotic drugs (heroin) from Pakistan to Gujarat by sea route.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday i.e. August 20, 2022, filed a supplementary chargesheet before the NIA Special Court, Ahemdabad against nine accused, including an Afghan national, in a 2008 case of smuggling 500 kg of Heroin from Pakistan to Gujarat by sea route.
NIA investigations have revealed that smuggled drugs worth Rs. 1500 crores in the international market were sent from Pakistan to India for further distribution in Amritsar, Punjab to raise funds for Pakistan National Haji Saab @ Bhaijaan and to harm the well-being of India's vulnerable youth population.
"The 500 Kg of Heroin was brought into a Pakistani fishing vessel and was delivered in the Indian territorial waters approximately 7-8 miles away from Jakhau Port, Kutch, Gujarat by Pakistani nationals", the NIA press release stated.
The nine accused chargesheeted are:
- Basheer Dawood Kundga @ Raja Kathiyara under section 120B of IPC, sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
- Mamad Ibrahim Sama under section 120B of IPC, sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
- Tamanna Gupta under section 120B of IPC, Sections 21(c), r/w 8(c) 25 & 29 of NDPS Act.
- Major Singh under section 120B of IPC sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
- Shahil Sharma under section 120B of IPC, Sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
- Anwar Masih under section 120B of IPC, sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act.
- Sukhwinder Singh @ Sukh under section 120B of Indian Penal Code, Sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
- Mantej Singh @ Mantej Mann @ Mickey under section 120B of IPC, sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
- Arman Bassar Mal (Afghan National) under section 120B of IPC, sections 21(c), r/w 8(c), 25, 27(A) & 29 of NDPS Act & sections 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act.
As per the NIA Press release, the case was initially on August 12, 2018, at ATS Police Station, Ahmedabad and re-registered by NIA on July 2, 2020.
