Punjab & Haryana HC Bar Assn writes to DGP, Punjab seeking cancellation of FIR against its member who has been 'falsely involved' in the matter
Referring to an FIR registered under Sections 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (Punishment for voluntarily obstructing public servant) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the IPC, against its member, the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has written to the Director General of Police, Punjab alleging that its member has been falsely involved.
One Munish Inder Singh, a member of the Bar Association is said to have been falsely involved in the case.
The association has further alleged that the contents of the FIR reveal that the FIR has been registered allegedly at the instance of BLO concerned without investigating the same or even verifying the veracity of the allegations made therein.
"Infact, it has been brought to the notice that the said BLO was neither interested in registration of the FIR nor is interested in pursuing the same as well. In spite of the same the SDM of the area is unnecessarily interfering in the due process of law and not permitting the complainant to withdraw the FIR...", the letter adds.
In this backdrop, Vishal Aggarwal, the Honorary Secretary of the Bar Association has demanded immediate action in the matter including cancellation of FIR at the earliest.
The Bar Association has also condemned the action of the SDM as well as the Police in falsely implicating its member.
