₹2,558 Crore Assets, ₹374 Crore Income: Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s Rajya Sabha Nomination Affidavit Reveals Wealth Details

Senior Advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has declared assets with a combined current market value of approximately ₹2,558 crore in the election affidavit filed along with his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana.
The affidavit was submitted before the Returning Officer as part of the nomination process and provides a detailed disclosure of assets held by Singhvi, his spouse and his Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), along with particulars of income, liabilities and other financial interests.
According to the affidavit, Singhvi reported an income exceeding ₹374 crore for the financial year 2024–25. The disclosure also sets out his income figures for the preceding years.
His declared income stood at over ₹333 crore for the financial year 2023–24. For 2022–23, the affidavit records income of more than ₹359 crore. In 2021–22, Singhvi reported income exceeding ₹290 crore, while for 2020–21 his declared income was over ₹158 crore.
These disclosures form part of the mandatory financial declarations required from candidates contesting elections to the Upper House of Parliament.
The affidavit contains an extensive account of movable assets held by Singhvi and members of his family. These include bank deposits, investments in shares and mutual funds, loans and advances, vehicles, jewellery and other valuables. The declaration lists jewellery valued at ₹2.40 crore held by Singhvi personally. Jewellery owned by his wife has been declared at ₹157.53 crore.
The affidavit further records that Singhvi owns artworks and paintings with a value exceeding ₹25 crore.
The document also discloses substantial loans and receivables. According to the affidavit, Singhvi has extended personal loans amounting to about ₹353.32 crore.
His spouse has separately declared loans to companies amounting to approximately ₹72.99 crore. The affidavit also lists various financial investments and other movable assets in significant amounts as part of the overall financial disclosures required under election rules.
Among the immovable properties declared are residential properties located in New Delhi that are held by Singhvi and his spouse. The affidavit places these properties within the overall portfolio of assets that together amount to a declared value of approximately ₹2,558 crore.
Interestingly, the affidavit includes a detailed inventory of household and office appliances listed under the category of “other fixed assets”. The list covers items such as air conditioners, furniture, kitchen appliances, computers and other equipment. The depreciated value of a computer has been recorded in the affidavit at ₹163. The affidavit states that Singhvi has no criminal convictions.
However, it discloses a prosecution complaint filed by the Income Tax Department in 2014 relating to alleged under-reporting of income. According to the affidavit, proceedings in the matter are pending before a court in Delhi. It also states that the proceedings have been stayed by the Delhi High Court.
The affidavit further mentions income tax dues exceeding ₹63 crore against Singhvi.
The disclosures have been made as part of the statutory requirement for candidates contesting elections to the Rajya Sabha, which mandates the filing of a sworn affidavit detailing assets, liabilities, income and any pending criminal cases. Singhvi has filed the nomination for the Upper House elections from Telangana.
