Constitution will keep India strong and united during peace and war: CJI BR Gavai
"Through every difficult situation our country has been strong and the reason is our Constitution..", CJI said during inauguration ceremony.;
The Chief Justice of India today inaugurated the newly constructed Advocates Chambers and Parking at the Allahabad High Court.
Speaking at the event, CJI Gavai said, "One thing I can tell you that it is our Constitution that will keep India strong and united both in peace and war..Our neighboring countries have very different situations..and India is flourishing after 75 years of Independence. Through every difficult situation our country has been strong and the reason is our Constitution..".
This is the first official function that CJI Gavai has attended post his appointment as the Chief Justice of India.
Referring to Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal's address, who was also present during the inauguration, the CJI said in jest, "Hon'ble Law Minister Meghwal Ji just said that Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is the more powerful and hardworking CM in the country...I would like to say that Prayagraj is powerful in itself..Yogi ji toh powerful hai hi...but humare Justice Vikram Nath bhi sabse powerful hain...".
Speaking at the inauguration, supreme court judge Justice Vikram Nath praised the Allahabad High Court Bar Association, calling it “very good, very wonderful". In response, CJI Gavai in his speech said, "I don't have the courage to dissent with Justice Vikram Nath, so I will agree and say that Allahabad High Court Bar is a very disciplined bar..(laughs)".
Appreciating the newly constructed chambers and parking structure, the CJI went on to say that, "In my knowledge, a building of this stature has not been built for lawyers in the world..Would like to thank the Chief Minister for making the funds available..Without the executive's funds, this could not have been done..".
Concluding his speech, CJI Gavai thanked the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his administration and providing funds for the High Court infrastructure development.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath also addressed the gathering and highlighted the state government's efforts to strengthen judicial infrastructure.
