Delhi High Court Extends Interim Orders Subsisting On April 19 Till July 16, 2021
The Delhi High Court has extended its interim orders and those of subordinate Courts subsisting as on April 19, 2021 till July 16, 2021 in light of the prevailing extraordinary circumstances.
"Taking suo moto cognizance of the aforesaid extraordinary circumstances, under Article 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India, it is hereby ordered that in all matters pending before this court and courts subordinate to this court, wherein such interim orders issued were subsisting as on 19.04.2021 and expired or will expire thereafter, the same shall stand automatically extended till 16.07.2021 or until further orders, except where any orders to the contrary have been passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in any particular matter, during the intervening period," a full bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi, Rekha Palli & Talwant Singh ordered.
The bench took account of a full bench order passed a Chief Justice led bench in the Writ petition Court on its own motion Vs. State (GNCTD).
Court further clarified that in case the aforesaid extension of interim order causes any hardship of "extreme nature", then the party would be at liberty to seek appropriate relief.
