CAM Assists Marriott International On Landmark JW Marriott Residences Projects

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas assisted Marriott International, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “Marriott”) on the landmark JW Marriott Residences portfolio projects in Gurugram.

JW Marriott Residences are residential properties associated with the JW Marriott luxury hospitality brand. Unlike a conventional residential project, the proposition is built around the integration of hospitality standards into residential living.

The publicly announced JW Marriott Residences project is being developed by Elan Group in partnership with Marriott International. The development is located in Sector 106, along Dwarka Expressway, Gurugram, within Elan's approximately 50-acre integrated township. The project is being developed alongside a proposed JW Marriott Hotel Gurugram.

The scope of work involved:

(a) advising on the framework for sale of units and subsequent maintenance of common areas in applicable real estate projects across India, with a focus on projects in Haryana,

(b) undertaking exhaustive title investigation of the land parcels forming part of the portfolio projects, and advising Marriott on related aspects from time to time on the overall structure to be adopted for the portfolio projects, and

(c) preparing and negotiating sophisticated transaction documents relating to licensing of marks and management in connection with the proposed residences projects.
