Karnataka High Court directs government to notify rules for live streaming of court proceedings immediately

A Karnataka High Court bench of Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi and Justice Sachin Magdum today directed the Registrar General of Karnataka High Court to notify the date of coming into effect of Karnataka High Court Live Streaming Rules.
The court further directed the government of Karnataka to notify the rules in the gazette immediately and ensure that they are published in one week.

When the matter came up for hearing, the counsel for the government informed the court that the Karnataka State Government has approved the rules regarding live streaming of court proceedings. He further submitted that the governor has assented to the rules and now the Registrar General has to notify the date in order for the rules to come into effect. It was further submitted that the draft rules have been approved as it is.

The court on hearing the submission of the counsel for the State directed the Registrar General to notify the date for coming into force of these rules. The court further directed the  government to immediately notify these rules and publish them in the official gazette in one week.
