NIA Files Charge Sheet Against 6 Members Of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh In Bhopal

Synopsis

According to the NIA, the six JMB cadres, including three Bangladeshi immigrants, were involved in spreading the banned organization's ideology and inciting youths to wage "jihad" against India.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday i.e. September 7, 2022, filed a charge sheet before the NIA Special Court, Bhopal against six members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) including three illegal Bangladeshi immigrants involved in propagating JMB ideology and motivating youth to perform Jihad against India.

Investigations have revealed that the accused conspired with their associates to carry out Jihad and commit violent and terrorist acts.

“They were discovered inciting youth to carry out violent Jihad in India to establish a Caliphate and Sharia law”, the NIA press release stated.

The six charge-sheeted accused are:

  1. Fazar Ali @ Thuhidur Rahman @ Shuriful Mandal @ Mahmood (Bangladeshi National) under sections 120B, 465 & 471 of IPC, sections 13, 18, 18B, 20, 38, 39 & 40 of UA(P) Act, section 14 A (b) of the Foreigners Act 1946.
  2. Waliullah Milon, @ Jahuruddin Pathan @ Ibrahim (Bangladeshi National) under sections 120B, 465 & 471 of IPC, sections 13, 18, 18B, 20, 38, 39 & 40 of UA(P) Act, section 14 A (b) of the Foreigners Act 1946.
  3. Jainul Abidin @ Akramul (Bangladeshi National) under sections 120B, 465 & 471 of IPC, sections 13, 18, 18B, 20, 38, 39 & 40 of UA(P) Act, section 14 A (b) of the Foreigners Act 1946.
  4. Aqeel Ahmad Shaikh @ Ahmad under sections 120B of IPC section 13, 18, 20, 38, 39 & 40 of UA(P) Act.
  5. Abdul Karim under sections 120B of IPC section 13, 18, 20, 38, & 39 of UA(P) Act.
  6. Sheban Khan @ Shahban under sections 120B of IPC section 13, 18, 20, 38, & 39 of UA(P) Act.

As per the NIA press release, the case was initially registered on March 14, 2022, at Special Task Force (STF) police station, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and later re-registered by NIA on April 5, 2022.
