Supreme Court to hold annual lecture on "The Role of Judiciary in a Changing World" on its 73rd Anniversary

Synopsis

The lecture is being organised in commemoration of 73rd Anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India.

On the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India, the first annual lecture on “The Role of Judiciary in a Changing World’ by Mr. Justice Sundaresh Menon, Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Singapore is going to be organized.

CJ Menon would be holding a discussion over the scope for further cooperation between two judiciaries, legal and judicial education, and the scope for knowledge sharing in these areas.

Additionally, he would also discuss the issue of technology in the administration of Justice, in particular, to enhance access to justice.

The lecture is scheduled to be held on February 4, 2023, and will be attended by dignitaries including the Chief Justice of India Dr. Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, senior serving and former judges of Supreme Court and High Courts, senior government functionaries, officers and members of the Bar Association, Senior Advocates, along with the officials and staff of the Supreme Court and others.
