Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, Senior Advocate, has today resigned from the post of Advocate General of Punjab. He tweeted out his resignation letter, in which he said that he would not be able to serve the prestigious office due to“personal reasons.”

His resignation came merely months after him being appointed the Advocate General.

“I am really thankful to the party for giving me a chance to represent the office of Advocate General, Punjab. Due to my personal reasons, I won’t be able to serve this prestigious office, therefore, I hereby tender my resignation which may kindly be accepted at earliest,”

According to the Tribune, Sidhu and his team of lawyers had played an important role in Punjab police custody of dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case.

It has been reported that on July 12, unidentified persons had hurled stones at the Shatabdi Express near Panipat, causing a crack in the windowpane of a berth occupied by Sidhu, who was returning from Delhi after appearing in the Supreme Court in a case against Bishnoi.
