Recently, Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar in his speech on September 27, during an interactive session at NLU Jodhpur said, "You have to neutralise anti-Bharat narratives. We cannot allow people to shame us for no reason. If you do not speak out, if the most premium intellectual category does not speak out, then the progress of the nation will be impeded, and that should never happen. I am sure that will not happen."

He urged the students to stop people from abroad speaking against the country.

The VP said, "There can be no greater force in a democracy than the student power, the youth power".

"You are the food soldiers. You will have to take Bharat at the pinnacle on your shoulders. And that you can do only by subscribing to our democratic values of civilization ethos, our work culture”, he added.

He also said that one must learn to place the interest of the nation ahead of anything else, this is not optional neither compulsive, but this is the only way.

Talking about people protesting on the streets after they receive notices from Central law enforcing agencies, the VP said, “Can anyone in a democratic governance in a society governed by rule of law be above law? No! You maybe anywhere, you can’t be above law. You’re accountable to law. The long arm of law will reach the neck of anyone, there will knock at the door. But we have a sinister mechanism, a style most illegal, unacceptable. You get a notice from an agency, you go to street. Where? Where are we heading? If you get a notice from an agency, we have a robust judicial system, why do not we go there? And our robust judicial system has delivered."

He also said, “Our independence of Judiciary is envied by developed nations. When we have such a mechanism in the entire county. Then why do you come on streets? Why do you protest on streets? Are you above the law?”

On the disruptions caused in the Parliament, the Vice President said, “What do you expect of your Parliamentarians. You expect them to debate, engage in dialogue, discussion and deliberation. Right?”

"You surely do not expect our parliamentarians to engage in disturbance or disruption...I appeal to all of you, please have it, a method of working for you. Always give respect to the other point of view. You may not agree, you may thoroughly disagree, you may discard it, but not to be open to an idea is not a good thing. That is not rational working, that militates against basic sense of intellect and is antithetical to democratic values, which we all cherish”, he said.

“So, always give respect to others point of view”, he emphasized.
