[2008 Malegaon Blast] Witness tells Special Court that he was forced to take names of Yogi Adityanath and others from RSS

In the 2008 Malegaon blast case a witness has told the Special NIA court that he was tortured by Anti-Terrorism Squad and was forced to falsely name Yogi Adityanath and 4 other people from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, ANI reported.

He has said that he was tortured, threatened and confined in illegal custody for taking names of RSS members including Yogi Adityanath, Indresh Kumar, and others.

The issue pertains to the incident that occurred on September 29, 2008, a bomb blast in the Malegaon town in Nashik district, Maharashtra leaving 6 killed and around 80 injured.

The submissions are in connection with the disposition made before the ATS prior to when the NIA took over the case.

Accused in this case include Pragya Thakur, Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, Shudakar Diwedi, Major Ramesh Upadhyay (Retired), Ajay Rahirkar, Sudhakar Dwivedi, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, and Sameer Kulkarni.
