Pachauri filed a petition for contempt of court in February 2016 against multiple media organizations for violating court orders that prohibited the publication of sexual harassment accusations against him in a deliberate and contemptuous manner.

Managing Director and Editor-in-chief of Republic TV Arnab Goswami on Monday informed the Delhi High Court that he will tender an unconditional apology in a contempt case filed against him by former TERI Chief, and environmentalist late RK Pachauri.

"The counsel for respondent No. 5 (Arnab Goswami) states that she as well will file an affidavit tendering unconditional apology within a period of one (1) week. It is ordered accordingly," Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora noted in the order.

It is to be noted that in the same case, the Economic Times and its Senior Assistant Editor, Raghav Ohri have already apologized unconditionally.

"The learned counsel for the Respondent Nos. 2 (Economic Times) and 3 (Ohri) states that he has filed an affidavit on behalf of Respondent Nos. 2 and 3, tendering their unconditional apology. Let the same be brought on record within a period of three days," the court noted.

During the hearing, counsel for former NDTV promoter, Prannoy Roy stated that he will take instructions on tendering unconditional apology.

Pachauri filed a petition for contempt of court in February 2016 against multiple media organizations for violating court orders that prohibited the publication of sexual harassment accusations against him in a deliberate and contemptuous manner.

According to the petitioner, the media was holding a trial against him, and the articles they published were both damaging to his case and defamatory. The present petition was filed when Arnab Goswami was the editor of Times Now and Prannoy Roy was the executive co-chairperson of NDTV.
