Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films LLP has sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal for abruptly and allegedly mala fide terminating the Hera Pheri 3 term sheet, seeking Rs 25 crore in damages

The producers of Hera Pheri 3 have issued a legal notice to actor Paresh Rawal, seeking damages of up to Rs. 25 crore for what they allege is an abrupt and unjustified withdrawal from the project.

Actor Akshay Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films LLP, through its legal counsel Parinam Law Associates, has accused the veteran actor of breaching contractual obligations and causing significant financial and reputational loss to the production, following his participation in the initial stages of filming.

"Paresh Rawal has demonstrated a blatant disregard for any form of professional integrity, commercial morality, and contractual sanctity", the company alleges.

Rawal had publicly announced his involvement with Hera Pheri 3 on January 30, 2025, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. A formal Term Sheet followed on March 27, 2025, under which the actor accepted a part payment of Rs. 11.88 lakh as remuneration. He subsequently participated in the film’s teaser shoot on April 3, alongside co-stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, and engaged in creative discussions without expressing any dissatisfaction.

However, the actor has now withdrawn from the project, citing “creative differences”—an explanation the producers call a “post-facto excuse” intended to sabotage the film and stall production.

“What’s rather surprising is that between January 2025 till date, no such reasons were ever communicated to the makers whatsoever. Hence, it is evident that any such reasons cited by him are an afterthought and his actions are in bad faith meant to sabotage the film,” the company stated.

It claims that it has incurred substantial production and promotional expenditures, including those for the teaser and initial film shoot, in which Rawal actively participated.

The company alleges that Rawal's sudden and unjustified withdrawal has caused severe financial loss, disrupted schedules, and jeopardized the momentum of a high-value production.

The legal notice warns that if the damages are not paid within seven days, Cape of Good Films will initiate civil and criminal proceedings.

The production house has also indicated its intent to seek injunctive relief and hold Rawal personally liable for any harm caused to co-actors, the director, and other parties associated with the project.
