Allahabad HC Grants Protection from Arrest to Jawed Habib, Son in Multi-Crore Fraud Case

The Allahabad High Court grants protection to celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib and son from arrest in investment fraud case
In a relief to celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib and his son Anosh Habib, the Allahabad High Court on Monday granted them protection from arrest in a multi-crore fraud case registered at Raeesatti police station in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh.
The bench of Justices Siddharth Verma and Achal Sachdeva ordered that no coercive action shall be taken against Habib and his son until the police file a chargesheet in the matter.
The case concerns allegations that Habib, his son and other family members lured investors into putting money into a firm named Follicle Global Company during a 2023 event at Royal Palace Venkat Hall in the Sarayatain area of Sambhal. Around 150 attendees were reportedly promised returns of 50 to 75 percent via investments in cryptocurrency (Bitcoin and Binance Coin).
Investors are said to have contributed amounts between Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 20 lakh each, but allegedly did not receive the promised returns even after a year. Investigations revealed the company had shut down and the accused became untraceable. The total fraud is estimated at about Rs. 5–7 crore.
To date, police in UP have registered around 32 FIRs against the duo and other associates, and a Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued. Authorities are now probing links to their operations in Delhi and Mumbai.
Court’s protection order holds until the filing of the chargesheet.
