Synopsis

The YouTube channel has been hacked, now streaming cryptocurrency videos

The Supreme Court of India's YouTube channel, a vital platform for live-streaming hearings, has reportedly been hacked. It is now displaying content related to XRP, a cryptocurrency developed by Ripple Labs, a US-based company.

Currently, a video titled "Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds To The SEC's $2 Billion Fine! XRP PRICE PREDICTION" is live on the compromised channel, revealing the breach. Hackers have also allegedly made previous hearing videos private, further highlighting the extent of the hack.

This breach raises particular concern as the channel had recently been used to stream live hearings of the suo motu case concerning the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape and murder. Additionally, the court uses the platform to broadcast proceedings from Constitution Benches and other matters of public interest.
