The decision was taken after the Allahabad High Court order in the petition moved by an AIAPGET aspirant namely Waliullah who, despite securing first rank in the PwD category, was unable to get admission in view of the high percentile decided in the PwD category.

Waliullah had secured 41.1 percentile, whereas the cut-off percentile for admissions EWS-PwD category was 45.

The high court, on September 19, 2023, had directed the Ministry of Ayush to take a decision with regard to lowering the percentile criteria for the said category within 10 days.

As per a letter sent to the petitioner's counsel, the Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee conducted a meeting on September 26, 2023, wherein the committee unanimously decided to reduce the minimum qualifying percentile for the said category in terms of the proviso to Regulation 8(iii) of the IMCC (Post Graduate) Amendment Regulations 2018.

The benefit of the decision will be applicable to all the aspirants of AIAPGET-2023, as the high court had ordered.
