BMW Hit & Run Case: Mihir Shah Moves Bombay High Court Claiming Illegal Detention

Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah and accused in the BMW hit-and-run case, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking release from illegal detention.

The division bench of the high court, comprising Justice Bharathi Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande, is expected to hear the petition on Wednesday.

Shah was arrested on July 9, two days after he allegedly rammed his BMW car into a two-wheeler in Mumbai's Worli area, killing Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and injuring her husband Pradeep.

The accident occurred on Annie Besant Road as Mihir Shah was returning from a long drive at Marine Drive following a night of partying in Juhu.

Rajesh Shah was earlier granted bail by the Mumbai Court. However, his son, Mihir Shah remains in jail.
