The Bombay High Court on Friday directed that status quo be maintained concerning any redevelopment of Savarkar Sadan, located in Dadar, Mumbai.
A bench comprising Justices A.S. Chandurkar and Neela Gokhale issued notices to the Urban Development Department of the Maharashtra government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in response to a petition seeking heritage status for the building.
The court also sought clarity from the government regarding the timeline for granting heritage classification to the property.
