The case pertains to a conspiracy hatched by CPI (Maoist) members to revive the organization in Magadh Zone and raise funds for it.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on January 20, 2023, filed chargesheet against two accused persons before NIA Special Court Ranchi, Jharkhand in a case pertaining to a conspiracy hatched by the members of CPI (Maoist) for its revival in Magadh Zone and to raise funds for the organization.
As per the NIA press release, the case was registered suo moto by the NIA on December 30, 2021.
The two accused persons namely, Tarun Kumar @ Tarun and Pradyuman Sharma @ Saket @ Kundan @ Sudhansu @ Kunal @ Nakul @ Laden have been chargesheeted under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) read with Section 386, 411 of IPC and Sections 13, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39 & 40 of UA (P) Act, 1967.
Investigations have revealed that Pradyuman Sharma, a prominent Communist Party of India (Maoist) cadre, along with FIR named accused Abhinav @ Gaurav Kumar @ Bittu and others, were plotting to resurrect the CPI (Maoist) organization in the Magadh Zone.
“In furtherance of this sinister motive, they conspired to raise funds for procurement of arms and ammunition and imparting training to Maoist cadres in the fabrication of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and to liaise with incarcerated Naxals and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in various Jails for the commission of terrorist acts and activities”, the NIA press release read.
