Delhi High Court Directs Parties To Clean Yamuna For 45 Days

The Delhi High Court while quashing an FIR registered after a fight which resulted in 'simple' injuries and after which the parties arrived at a settlement, directed the parties to work with the Delhi Jal Board team and clean Yamuna for 45 days. 

The FIR was registered under Sections 323 (Punishment for Voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage modesty of a woman) read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Jaitpur Police Station, Delhi. As per the allegations, the children of the complainant and the petitioners had a fight wherein the parents also got involved, which intern resulted in an altercation. 

As per the medical report the nature of injuries was "simple". The parties also submitted that both had arrived at a settlement wherein all the disputes were settled.

Justice Jasmeet Singh while quashing said FIR, directed the parties to work with the Delhi Jal Board to clean the river Yamuna for 45 days with 'sincere efforts and energies'. 

At the end of satisfactory service, the Petitioners and Respondents will be given a certificate by Delhi Jal Board for Yamuna Cleaning and this certificate by each of the Petitioners and Respondents must be placed on record within one week of their receipt, as per court's order.
