Synopsis

Suresh Karamshi Nakhua alleged that Dhruv Rathee, through a provocative and incendiary video that rapidly circulated on digital platforms, made serious and unsubstantiated allegations against him. It was contended that the video harbored malicious intent by insinuating Nakhua’s involvement in violent and abusive troll activities.

The Saket Court, recently, summoned Youtube Influencer Dhruv Rathee in a defamation suit initiated by BJP Leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua. The case was initiated by Nakhua, the spokesperson for the BJP’s Mumbai unit, alleging that Rathee's video unjustly categorized him as part of “violent and abusive trolls” a claim he argued was unfounded and damaging to his reputation.

District Judge Gunjan Gupta issued the notice while registering the case and subsequently informed Rathee of Nakhua's request for interim relief, scheduling the next hearing for August 6.

On July 7, 2024, Rathee uploaded a video titled ‘My Reply to Godi Youtubers | Elvish Yadav | Dhruv Rathee’ on his YouTube channel.

Nakhua further asserted that the video was designed to tarnish his integrity and reputation by propagating false accusations and unwarranted connections. The creator of the video, according to Nakhua, sought not only to undermine his character but also to damage his established social standing, fostering suspicion and mistrust with potential long-term consequences for both his personal and professional life.
