Delhi HC Issues Notice to Noida SSP Over Missing 14-Year-Old Girl, Seeks Status Report

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, issued notice to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), in a plea moved by parents whose minor daughter had been missing since June 12.
In doing so, a bench led by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora directed that the SSP shall submit a status report before the next hearing in the present matter.
During the course of proceedings, notices were issued to all relevant authorities, and they were asked to submit their response in the matter soon.
High Court was hearing a habeas corpus petition under Article 226 of the Indian Constitution filed by the 14-year-old girl’s father. The parents of the minor had sought the High Court’s intervention in the instant matter.
Reportedly, three individuals have been apprehended so far in the present case with respect to the minor’s disappearance. Preliminary investigation had revealed that the girl had left her home voluntarily. However, currently, further inquiry is in place.
Notably, it was noted that along with the missing minor, two other girls who had gone missing have been located within the Gautam Buddha Nagar/Noida region.
Further, the court directed the Investigating Officer (IO) from the Harsh Vihar Police Station to ensure the court’s order reaches the SSP and to appear before the court along with the SSP for the next hearing.
The matter is listed before the Vacation Bench on June 27, 2025.
