Synopsis

The petitioner alleged that his brother is trading confidential specifications and designs of ambulances that are meant for the VIP & VVIP viz the President and Prime Minister of India.

The Delhi High Court recently directed the Central Government to consider the representation made by a man alleging that his elder brother is trading confidential specifications and designs of ambulances which are meant for the VIP & VVIP viz the President and Prime Minister of India.

A bench of Justice Yashwant Varma stated, "Bearing in mind the sensitive nature of the contents of that communication, this writ petition shall stand disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos. 1 and 2 (Centre and Delhi Police) to duly bring the same to the attention of the competent authorities who may then proceed to take such further action as may be warranted in light of the facts and circumstances of the case."

The order has been passed in a plea filed by one Ujjawal Handa through Advocate ZA Siddiqui seeking directions to the Central Government and Delhi Police alleging that his brother somehow got filled with such malice and lust for money and property that he is in litigation with his own family at one hand and on the other hand, is trading confidential specifications and designs of ambulances which are meant for the VIP & VVIP viz the President and Prime Minister of India. Additionally, he has been living under fear of his life and is under constant apprehension of his family being targeted by his elder brother, the petitioner stated.

The plea submitted: "Mr. Rajan Handa is in the business of importing rowing boats, kayaks, canoes, etc. and supplying to the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Sports Authority of India, and several State governments. That Mr. Rajan Handa is also the representative of a German company that supplies NBC Protected Ambulances to the Special Protection Group, which are used in the convoy of the President of India, Vice President of India and Prime Minister of India."

"It is important to mention here that the specifications of these vehicles are top secret & highly classified information," the plea added.

Court disposed of the plea directing the Central Government and Delhi Police to bring the issue to the notice of appropriate authority.
