Delhi High Court to introduce own neutral citation system for all Judgments from Oct 17 onwards

As per the Circular issued by the Registrar(IT)on October 15, 20220, the Delhi High Court will have its own neutral citation system for all Judgments consisting of “Year/DHC/Auto-Generated Number” from October 17, 2022.
The Delhi High Court will introduce a neutral citation system for all its judgments uploaded on the official website from October 17, 2022.
“It is hereby informed to all concerned that the High Court is going to introduce a neutral citation system with effect from 17.10.2022 for all its judgments uploaded on the official website at www.delhihighcourt.nic.in”, a Circular issued by the Registrar (IT) of the high courtread.
As per the Circular, the neutral citation system of the court will consist of the following three elements: “Year/DHC/Auto-Generated Number”.
“A unique neutral citation number for every judgment uploaded on the court’s official website with effect from October 17, 2022, i.e. Monday, and will also be available at the top of each page of the judgment,” the Circular read.
The Circular also stated that an additional search field has been created under the 'Judgments-PDF Judgments' link of the official website to facilitate the search of relevant judgment by its neutral citation number, in addition to other keywords, such as Case Number, Party Name, Date of Judgment, and so on.
