The Delhi High Court has recently issued notice on a plea raising the issue of unfortunate state at Consumer Forums due to the lack of infrastructure and vacant positions in forums in the national capital.
A division bench of the Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice in a plea filed by Advocate Sangam Singh Kochar who through an RTI application came to know that there is a shortage of staff and laptops in these forums.
The plea has sought direction to immediately fill the vacancies of member judges in the District Consumer Forums, Delhi and to complete the quorum.
The bench has issued notice to the Ministry of Law and Justice, Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution, Delhi Government and National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission while posting the matter for hearing on February 28, 2022.
The plea has further sought direction to provide adequate infrastructure and basic amenities to the District Consumer Forums, Delhi.
