The Delhi High Court on Wednesday slammed the Delhi Government over non-payment of salaries to the Teachers stating that the teachers shape the future of the country and they cannot be treated like this.

A bench of Justice Subramonium Prasad said that the lack of money cannot be a ground for non-payment of salaries to the teachers.

The bench was hearing a batch of contempt petitions filed by teachers over the non-payment of salaries to the teachers.

The Court has posted the matter for a final hearing on April 18, 2022, while directing the Director of Education to submit a list of teachers who are in similar positions.

The bench has strictly asked the Delhi Government to implement the directions and come back on the next date informing the bench that the orders have been complied with.
