After observing that the concerned inspector failed to respond to the court's inquiry regarding the status of the investigation and the filing of a supplemental charge sheet in a case involving the 2020 northeast Delhi riots, the court directed the Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) to appear in person before it.

A Delhi Court on Wednesday directed the Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) to appear in person before it after noting that the inspector concerned failed to answer the court’s query about the status of the investigation and filing of a supplementary charge sheet in a case of the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.

While issuing summoning order the Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Amitabh Rawat of Karkardooma Court, said, “It has been asked from the inspector present about the status of the investigation and filing of supplementary charge sheet… However, no answer is forthcoming”.
