The bench of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha was hearing a petition filed by the University alleging that the students are conducting an agitation inside the University campus, which is disturbing its normal functioning.

It was further alleged that the Registrar and Assistant Registrar of the University were also Gheraoed and are still being prevented from free ingress and egress out of their offices within the University.

The students are demonstrating and agitating everywhere and also lying on the access pathways to such buildings, the University claimed.

Taking note of these allegations, Court ordered the Officer-in-charge, Santiniketan Police Station and S.P., Birbhum to ensure and take all necessary steps so that the Registrar and Assistant Registrar and the Management of the University, do not, in any way, get obstructed from performing their day to day functions or moving freely in the University campus and outside.

Court stated,

"This Court also directs the students in the University not to obstruct the Management in any way and ensure that the aforesaid order is complied with."

The matter has been listed on 17th March 2022 for further hearing.
