Amid the controversy surrounding Nupur Sharma and her statements regarding Prophet Muhammad, one advocate has written to the Commissioner of Police in Gurugram, on Thursday, to take action against Bhim Sena Chief, Nawab Satpal Tanwar.

According to the complaint, Tanwar, who is a resident of Gurugram, has made derogatory remarks against Nupur Sharma saying that he would make her do a “mujra” before him and the whole country. Tanwar has also posted Rs.1 crore reward on social media to any person who will cut out Nupur Sharma’s tongue.

The complaint states, “By making these statements Tanwar has intentionally and knowing fully well that his said statement would insult and outrage the modesty of a woman, has stated that he will make her do mujra in front of the entire country and thereby committed the offence under section 354 (outraging modesty of woman using criminal force), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) IPC.”

The complainant has also stated that the said statements have instigated and provoked the public at large against Nupur Sharma, which is a direct threat to her life.  By announcing a bounty on her, he has also abetted at large harm to Sharma and breached public peace and tranquility, he has alleged.

The complainant has also contended that the statements have lowered the image of Sharma in the eyes of the general public on social media and has also committed the offence of Section 499 (Defamation) of the IPC.

Videos of Tanwar's comments have also gone viral on social media and have also been reported widely by many news channels. However, no action has been taken against him till date.
