Jaipur Golden Hospital Case: Delhi Court slams Police for filing status report in a "casual" manner

A Delhi Court today slammed the Delhi Police for filing in a "casual manner" the Action Taken Report in the plea seeking registration of FIR against the management of the Jaipur Golden Hospital where several patients died due to oxygen shortage at the said hospital.
The Court of Metropolitan Magistrate Vivek Beniwal considering that the matter is highly sensitive gave one last opportunity to the Delhi Police to file the status report.
The Court however took a stern view and said that if the Police failed to file the status report till the next date of hearing, strict actions will be taken in accordance with law.
Passing the above directions, the Court listed the matter for next hearing on August 3.
The Court was hearing a plea filed by six families of the deceased seeking appropriate punishment against the management of Jaipur Golden Hospital for allegedly causing death of the patients.
The plea has been filed through Advocates Sahil Ahuja and Siddhant Sethi says "Keeping everyone in dark and thereby not providing the proper oxygen support which led to the death is an act of culpable homicide on their part all whilst the accused hospital minted money and raised invoices".
Similarly the Delhi High Court recently issued notice in a plea seeking independent investigation by a Court monitored CBI SIT into the deaths that took place in Jaipur Golden Hospital, between April 23 & April 24.
Prayer has inter alia sought issuance of a writ, order or direction to secure the records of hospital, reflecting demand and supply of Medical Oxygen, compensation to bereaved families and quashing of report dated May 2, submitted by the Delhi Government reflecting the lack of evidence suggestive of oxygen shortage.
