Justice Satish Chandra Sharma Takes Oath As New Chief Justice of Delhi High Court

Justice Satish Chandra Sharma on Tuesday took oath as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. The oath was administered by Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena at the Raj Niwas in presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other dignitaries.
The Central Government notified the appointment of Justice Sharma on June 19 as Chief Justice of Delhi. The same Law Ministry Notification has also notified the elevation of Justices AA Sayed, SS Shinde, Rashmin M Chhaya and Ujjal Bhuyan were elevated as the chief justices of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Guwahati and Telangana high courts, respectively.
Justice Sharma has also previously served as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court
His transfer has been recommended by collegium headed by the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana in a resolution passed on May 17, 2022.
Justice Sharma has previously served in the Madhya Pradesh High Court, where he was appointed as an additional judge in January 2008 and a permanent judge two years later in January 2010.
Justice Sharma is also on the advisory board of the National Law Institute University in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh
Justice Vipin Sanghi, who was, till now, the acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court is now the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court
