Madras High Court directs DGP to investigate into allegations against persons involving Muslim Youth in illegal activities

The Madras High Court has directed the DGP to look into a complaint that two individuals are deceiving Muslim youth and involving them in illegal activities.

The Madras High Court, on Wednesday, directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to investigate into a complaint ,alleging that two individuals are deceiving Muslim youth and involving them in illegal activities. It has also been alleged that they also raise money through international channels under the pretext of helping the youth in getting out of jail.

A bench of Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice N Mala, were hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by one M Jahufar Sathik. The PIL alleged that Sathik and his friend joined a Muslim forum, wherein the preaching was mostly about jihad and against Hindu leaders.

The bench opined that the allegations are serious in nature and directed the police department to submit a detailed counter affidavit by July 20.

Sathik, a scrap dealer, has stated that, he was a part of a religious forum consisting of 35 to 40 people. He has alleged that, a person Mannadi Abdullah asked them to to attend a religious preaching. Sathik informed the bench that, he also fell for the preachings and got involved in a murder case. It has been alleged that, 17 persons were chargesheeted in the case. Sathik has told the court that, the pictures of these persons were used to collect donations from the Gulf countries.
