NIA files chargesheet against PFI National Coordinator

Ibrahim was the National Coordinator of PFI and he was responsible for the organization and conduct of PFI Arms Training Camps across various States of the country.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday i.e. April 19, 2023, filed chargesheet against Ibrahim Puthanathani @ Ibrahim M K before NIA Court, Delhi. Ibrahim was the National Coordinator and he was responsible for the organization and conduct of PFI Arms Training Camps across various States of the country on behalf of the Popular Front of India (PFI).

Ibrahim Puthanathani has been charged under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 121A (conspiracy to commit offences punishable for waging war or abetting waging of war), 122 (collecting arms), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) of IPC, Sections 13, 18 (Punishment for conspiracy), 18A (Punishment for organising of terrorist camps), 18B (Punishment for recruiting of any person or persons for terrorist act) of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. The NIA has also invoked additional charges under Sections 38 (Offence relating to membership of a terrorist organisation), and 39 (Offence relating to support given to a terrorist organisation) of the UA (P) Act against the PFI, as an organization.

The NIA investigations have revealed that the PFI cadres were being systematically trained in the use of weapons in the guise of Physical Education (PE) classes in different parts of India and Ibrahim had designed the Syllabus for the Advanced Physical and Arms training courses.

“He was traveling across the length and breadth of the country to coordinate and supervise such Arms Training Camps”, the NIA press release stated.

“This follows the chargesheet filed by NIA on 18th March against the National Executive Council (NEC) members and senior cadres of the PFI”, the agency’s press release further stated.
