Oudh Bar Association Withdraws Resolution To Boycott Court of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh

Synopsis

As per Associations's resolution on April 19, it had received several complaints from lawyers who had stated that it had become very difficult for them to conduct cases before the court of Justice DK Singh.

The Oudh Bar Association on Thursday decided to withdraw its resolution passed a day earlier to boycott the court of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh.

Justice Singh is a judge at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.

The Association had passed the earlier resolution citing instances of misbehavior on the part of Justice Singh with counsel appearing before him. As per the resolution dated April 19, 2023, several complaints from the members of the bar had come to the Association which claimed that it had become difficult for the lawyers to appear before Justice Singh in any proceeding.

The resolution stated that taking serious note of the issue, an urgent meeting had been held by the Association officeholders with regard to the misbehavior and embarrassment being faced by the lawyers in Justice Singh's court.

"...meeting has been convened by General Secretary Manoj Kumar Mishra with regard to misbehavior and to create embarrassing position with the counsels who appear before Hon'ble Justice D.K. Singh. The Bar has received complaints from the respected member of Bar, the member of Bar have apprised that before Hon'ble Justice D.K. Singh to conduct the case have now become very difficult because before his lordship in the aforesaid circumstances," the resolution read.

Therefore, the Bar had unanimously resolved to abstain from work before the court of Justice Singh with immediate effect from 2:15 pm on April 19, 2023 onwards.

"...members of the Bar are requested to abstain from work from the Court of Hon'ble Justice D.K. Singh so that the dignity of the members of the Bar should be maintained," the resolution passed on April 19 stated.
