The accused, excluding Neelam Azad, gave their consent for the test before the court

Five of the six accused persons arrested in connection with the Parliament security breach on Friday gave their consent before a Delhi Court to conduct their polygraph test.

Additional Sessions Judge Hardeeep Kaur of Patiala House Court also extended the police custody of all the accused persons—Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Dhanraj Shinde, Neelam Azad, Lalit Jha, and Mahesh Kumawat—by eight days, i.e., till January 15.

The accused, excluding Neelam Azad, gave their consent for the test before the court.

The judge extended the custody of the accused persons on an application moved by the Delhi Police after they were produced before the court on the expiry of their custody granted earlier.

The Delhi Police had earlier moved the court, seeking permission to conduct the polygraph test of all the accused persons. It also sought to conduct brain mapping and narcotics tests on accused Manoranjan D. and Sagar Sharma.

On December 13, during Lok Sabha proceedings, two persons—Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D—jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during the Zero Hour, released yellow gas from canisters, and shouted slogans before being overpowered by the MPs.

Around the same time, two other accused, Amol Shinde and Azad, also sprayed coloured gas from canisters while shouting "tanashahi nahi chalegi" outside the Parliament premises.
