A petition has been moved in the Delhi High Court by several medical aspirants seeking directions to the Centre, National Testing Agency (NTA), and others to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) scheduled for July 17.

The petitioner seeks direction from the respondents to postpone the NEET-UG 2022 examination scheduled for July 17, 2022, as stated in a notification dated April 6, 2022.

"Direct the respondents to conduct NEET-UG 2022 phase 2 for the academic session 2022, taking into account the huge distance of examination centre, which ranges between 150km to 300km for a thousand students during the current grave situation caused by floods across the nation," the petition stated.

Plea further stated that last year's exam was held on September 12 and the results were announced on November 1, and this year's exam notification was released on April 6, approximately 100 days before the exam, causing stress and anxiety among students.

Plea also sought directions to the respondents to issue a new notification rescheduling the NEET-UG 2022 Examination after considering the grievances raised by the students through their representation dated May 12 and July 8.

Advocate Mamta Sharma brought the case before Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma's bench today for an urgent hearing.

The matter is most likely to be heard tomorrow, July 14.
