Synopsis

Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2002 murder of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court.

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has recently dismissed a plea alleging that the Dera Sacha Sauda Chief, Ram Rahim who is out on parole, is an imposter.

The High Court said that it wasn't a movie. It further stated that because such instances resemble scenes from a made-up movie, the High Court is not intended to consider them.

The bench was hearing a plea filed by Ram Rahim supporters alleging that the Ram Rahim who reached ashram after parole is a different person. The claims were made that there are several changes in Rahim after parole, his height raised by one inch, whereas his fingers and feet size also raised.

The plea had further alleged that Rahim after being released on parole met a few of his friends, whom he didn't recognise, which proves that the Rahim out on bail is fake.

The plea had also alleged that the real Rahim has been killed or will soon be killed. The petitioners further claimed that some changes had been made to Ram Rahim's Aadhaar card after the current parole was granted. The motive behind it was to take away Dera's trust through counterfeit documents, as he was the sole owner of Dera's huge immovable assets.

Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2002 murder of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court last October. Rahim was released on parole for one month from the Sunaria jail of Rohtak in Haryana last month.
