[Representation] SCAORA Writes To CJI For Resumption Of Physical Hearing

The Supreme Court Advocates On Record Association (SCAORA) on Sunday, 31st January wrote to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India for resumption of physical hearings with the existing virtual courts in a hybrid manner.

The President of SCAORA, Mr. Shivaji M.Jadhav in the representation stated that many advocates mostly junior advocates were facing financial problems and even litigants were equally facing problems since, many matters are not being listed.

The representation stressed upon how the process of vaccination had already begun and every effort to attain normalcy was being focussed at, in the light of such facts the association has requested the The Hon’ble Chief Justice to resume physical hearings with the existing virtual courts in a hybrid manner.

The SCAORA in their representation have stated that previously, some court halls were renovated as per the advice of the medical committee to commence physical hearings and subsequently, an SOP dated 12.09.2020 for limited physical hearing in the Supreme Court was notified.

The Association also brought into light the fact that the Advocates on Record/Advocates were not able to access the registry for following up urgent matters related to registry issues including mentioning, urgent listing of matters, inconsistencies in refilling etc.
