VVIP Chopper Case | Delhi Court Seeks Missing Inquiry File on Christian Michel’s Allegations

The Rouse Avenue Court on Monday noted that the inquiry file on the safety and security of Christian Michel James, the alleged middleman in the AgustaWestland chopper scam, had gone missing.
While taking serious note of the matter, Judge Sanjay Jindal has directed the DG (Prisons) to locate the file, and if found to be untraceable, submit an explanation by July 7, 2025, as to how the file went missing.
Notably, on Aug 29, 2019, an original inquiry report on the jail security of Christian Michel James had been filed. However, the jail authorities on June 6, 2025, told the court that the report had gone missing.
James had moved court to reconsider the findings of a previous inquiry report, which looked into an alleged attempt on his life inside Tihar Jail. The original 2019 inquiry report had concluded that no foul play was detected.
However, in the instant case, James has alleged that his co-inmate tried to harm him. He added that the incident was a part of a pre-planned conspiracy to eliminate him. He has alleged that a poisoning attempt had been made against him.
The matter will now be heard on July 17 for compliance.
