The Gujarat High Court has declined a plea seeking termination of the 34-36 week pregnancy of a 17-year-old rape survivor allegedly impregnated by her biological brother. Relying on a medical boards opinion that termination at this stage posed grave risks to both the mother and fetus, the Court directed the State to provide comprehensive medical care, compensation, postpartum support, and ensure the newborn is placed for adoption through the statutory process.
