Centre Announces Appointment of Three Judicial Officers to Delhi HC

The Central Government on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, notified the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Delhi High Court.
Earlier in the day, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal made the announcement in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The new judicial appointees:
-Mr. Vinod Kumar
-Ms. Shail Jain
-Ms. Madhu Jain.
The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) B. R. Gavai, had approved the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Delhi High Court.
Notably, Judge Vinod Kumar is presently serving as Principal District & Sessions Judge (East), Karkardooma Courts, Delhi.
Judge Shail Jain is serving as the Principal District & Sessions Judge, (South), Saket Courts.
Meanwhile, Judge Madhu Jain is presently posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge (West), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.
With these appointments, the working strength of the High Court has now increased to 43 judges, against a sanctioned strength of 60.
On Monday, six new judges of the Delhi High Court were administered the oath of office, taking the court's working strength to 40.
The oath was administered by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya to six judges who have been transferred from various High Courts across the country.
On July 14, the Central Government had notified the transfer of these six judges, following recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium.
